Now here is a list that is an absolute crock of excrement. Blender.com recently published a list of the 28 Most Recognisable Guitars and I have to say it's pretty obvious they were running out of ideas towards the tale. The way the list has been done is very cool, but the contents is off the mark in several ways.

To me, the guitar is classed as recognisable if you see it and instantly associate it with a particular performer, and no other. Here is the list below, and I've bolded the ones I agree with:

There is a real difference between recognising a guitar as the type a particular artist uses, and recognising the exact instrument that was played by the artists, or seeing a guitar and thinking of a musician who's identity is synonymous with the instrument. An example is that Lots of people play Les Pauls, but there is no confusing which one Zakk Wylde plays. Seeing a black fender Strat is not going to make me think of Eric Clapton instantly.

There are a few guitars that I think are missing from the list, like an Cracked Mirror Ibanez Iceman (Paul Stanley). Can anyone else think of a guitar missing from the list?

Electro-Harmonix Stereo Electric Mistress

What are these guys on? I love companies that don't take themselves too seriously. Electro-Harmonix is one of them. The demonstrate the new Electro-Harmonix Stereo Electric Mistress they have concocted another bizarre video. Check it out.

I need to get me some of them LED rings. They are very cool. The pedal sounds very cool too. I still find it hard to go past my trusty MXR Phase 90 re-issue though.

Diesel Instructional DVD

Diesel has always been one of my favourite guitarists. Even back in the "Injectors" days, I found myself rocking out to the blues rock styling of the man in question. So the news that he was bringing out an instructional DVD had me salivating profusely. Diesel is without a doubt one of the most underrated guitarists/singers in the world today. His solo performances are something not to be missed.

Surely if you play guitar you have seen these by now. StSanders Has taken classic guitar footage from our favourite guitar idols and over dubbed the audio. yeah it sounds lame but the skill he has used in making these is great. You would honestly think you were hearing these masters having a really, REALLY bad night.

Although the EVH video is gold, I can't go past Slash and the talk box. Check these out and know that You tube is good.

Joe Bonamassa – Bloodlines

Joe Bonamassa started at an early age in a group called Bloodlines, filled with the children of several notable music legends. As far as I know he is the only one still doing something worthwhile. There was a documentary on him recorded some time in the 90's when he was still 16 years old. These are three clips worth watching just to make you very much green with envy.
