Satriani in a pedal…
... well not quite, but Vox have announced a deal with Joe Satriani that will see them releasing pedals designed by the man himself. Not only will we see pedals that reproduce some of the signature tones of Satriani, he is helping them develop brand new pedals.
More news to come in a few months time.
Marshall 1959RR Signature

The man who created the tone that defined a generation of guitarists finally has a signature series. It's just a shame he is not hear to see it. The striking 1959RR has been built to the original specifications as requested by Rhoads himself. From my understanding, and I may be wrong, the main difference is that the first channel is fed directly into the second gain channel, producing more gain and harmonic overtones that create that signature sound.
I just hope the guitar is tonally versatile and not stuck in the 80's, otherwise me may all be wearing spandex again real soon, and that would not be pretty.
Winter NAMM 2008 : Slash has a new guitar…

... and I love it.
I haven't been a huge fan of the McSwain Guitars that seem to constantly be featured over at Guitar Noize, but this one is a corker, and not just because Slash grabbed it. I'm a big fan of Hunter S. Thompson and the artwork of Ralph Steadman, so this tickles my fancy in a big way. I'd love to find out some more on the specifications of this guitar, but for now will settle at it's beauty.

Winter NAMM 2008 : ESP with a truckload
ESP sure don't do things by half, EGR has a story on the 50+ new models Esp is launching at NAMM. The full release is here.

One of the guitars of note is the Richie Sambora model. I think Richie goes through as many companies as Paul Stanley. But I don't mind this guitar. Kind of classic with a modern twist. Strangely it reminds me of a Rickenbacker. Kinda.
