New Ibanez 2010 Range

Ibanez are showcasing a new series of guitars on their website, and unfortunately there is little to go one that I can find on some of the models.

There is the new XPT1400TW GP (catchy name!) that is a double neck six string / seven string combo, and new six sting base, and a new Darkstone Model, the DN! PRM that I have just fallen in love with. To have a look at all the pics head over to the Ibanez website.

Steve Vail JEM Design Contest

Why can't more guitarists take themselves less seriously like Steve Vai does? My appreciation of Vai increases the more I see him on video, and not from his playing.

Anyway, Ibanez is coming up onto 77,777 Jems sold in 23 years. So they are having a contest for you to design your own JEM. The best design gets made, one for you, and one for Mr Vai himself.

Ibanez JS2400 Namm Leak – is it real?

There is a rumoured "leak" of a new Ibanez model that will be launched at NAMM this year, and it has people all over the interwebs debating it's legitimacy. The specs posted by Voo-Du are as follows:

Colour - White
Body - Basswood
Neck - JS Prestige, 1-pc Maple w/ rosewood fingerboard. 24 frets (W6105)
Trem - Edge (chrome)
Pickups - Dimarzio Pro Track, Dimarzio Mo Joe

You know what I find more interesting about this? People may be starting to spread their own rumours and producing fakes much like they do in the technology market. I can come up with shit all day. How about a double cutaway Les Paul Robot made of Pyrite? That's my inside tip for Namm, I had the pics but I left them on the train with my tin foil hat!

Ibanez ART320

Peter at I Heart Guitar has posted an extensive wrap up of the new Ibanez models release at Summer Namm 09. To be honest, none of the guitars really got my juices flowing, until I hit the end of the list.

I don't know much about ART320, but I know what I like... The finish one is absolutely stunning. I think I'm turning "blue" with envy.
