Here is a great video of the just re-issued Aqua-Puss Delay from Way Huge Electronics. The reissue pedal features all original specs and construction as the original Aqua Puss. This video features Scorpions' guitarist Uli Jon Roth demoing the delay through an Orange Amplification 1x12.

Pigtronix EP2 Envelop Filter

What a beautiful sound. I love my Phase90, but when this thing has both the envelope filter and phaser engaged I'm in swirly acid induced hallucination freak out heaven. I love this thing!

The Pigtronix EP2 Envelope Phaser is more than just an EP1 in a smaller box. The EP2 has been redesigned in collaboration with Howard Davis to provide the most top-notch envelope based phaser on the planet. The Pigtronix EP2 Envelope Phaser features tons of control, full frequency response, and versatility that is heretofore unmatched in the effects pedal industry. The Sensitivity knob controls the amount of signal needed to open the envelope follower while the Depth knob controls the amount of LFO modulation. The Center knob adjusts where in the audio spectrum the LFO is sweeping.

The Pigtronix EP2 Envelope Phaser features a Blend switch that blends between LFO and EF modulation as well. The usual Speed and Depth controls are present as well as a Resonance control that adjusts the amount of the effected signal that is fed back into the phaser creating deep, swooshing effects. The Pigtronix EP2 Envelope Phaser functions as both an LFO based phase effect as well as an envelope follower and can be switched back and forth with a footswitch.

The EF has switches to choose between up and down waves as well as a Staccato switch that enables the EF to track super fast notes and open on every one. The Pigtronix EP2 Envelope Phaser has more features than a new Lexus but dont let that stop you. There are more sweet sounding effects hidden in this box that you could dream of.

Peter at i heart guitar gets all the fun toys to review. Here he has the new MXR M116 Fullbore Metal and has done a great review.

Apparently these pedals are favoured by the worlds mostest brutals guitarist Skwisgaar Skwigelf (if you don't know who I'm talking about see the second clip below), and judging by this video I can see why. This thing is as subtle as a palette of bricks to the gonads!

Death By Audio Octave Clang

DBA Octave Clang

Death By Audio have a history of innovative guitar effects. And the Octave Clang is another great example. This is an octave up fuzz pedal that doesn't sound like any fuzz I have ever heard.

The Death By Audio Octave Clang is a low-fi octave fuzz pedal that features true bypass, matched germanium diodes, and a specially selected transformer for vintage fuzz tones that go beyond the Isle of Wight. The gain goes from harmonically rich and creamy to all out fuzz mayhem. The Death By Audio Octave Clang is extremely loud with tons of volume on tap. Chordal playing will bring out all kinds of mismatched overtones and droning atmospheres. The Death By Audio Octave Clang is a new take on the octave fuzz effect and as such produces sounds not really heard before.

MI Audio Crunch

I'm not quite sure how they have done it, but MI have squeezed a classic Marshall amp into this little pedal. Well, not literally, but they sure as hell got the tone in there. I also love the fact that Mi are fellow Australians, and all these pedals are hand made here. Fantastic!

If you're looking to fatten up your leads or really chunk out some rhythms the MI Audio is for you. Designed a few years ago, the MI Crunch Box was based on a careful study of the design of British amp overdrive circuits. Experimenting with the midrange frequency concentration of these designs yielded the Crunch Box in 2003. After a few prototypes, the unit was released in 2006.

The MI Crunch Box will take on any distortion pedal on the market. Rock, Metal, Blues, this thing can do it all. If you play single coils, the Crunch Box will make them scream like a fat girl on a pogo stick. If you play humbuckers the Crunch Box will make the Earth quake and little girls cry. Thick, fat, and juicy just like a good steak the Crunch Box was not designed for low gain, ballady crap. The MI Audio Crunch Box...not for those with small danglies.
