I admit it. I did more than a slight chuckle at the name. But forgetting that for a moment, these are some seriously refined pedal boards. I've made my own boards before, but they sure were beat up by the ugly stick. These are like the beautiful princess in the tower you spend your lonely nights longing for. Then you have your wicked ways with the cheap little tramp.

The story begins with Don, the founder of the Wicked Woody concept. Don is a cabinet maker by trade, a history teacher by profession, and an all around awesome guy. He plays guitar in a band (a real band, not a fake one) and he found himself with a small collection of neat-o guitar pedals that complimented his righteous tone. But he could never find a pedal board that met his needs. All of them were either ugly, or bulky, or tiny. Try as he might, there just was not a suitable solution for his pedals.

So he did what any carpenter would do - he built himself one that would fit all of his needs. And man was it a beauty.

And it hasn't stopped there. Since then, the Wicked Woody line of products has grown to include a righteous amp stand that is designed to give you control over your sound while playing live. It has undergone some extremely successful trials, and the design will be finalized in the next few weeks.

There is a DVD here of Quick Licks In The Style Of. What a great idea. I'm not sure if they have done these before but it would personally find something like that much more useful than learning songs note for note.

This looks really interesting. It's a great concept, but I hope he has tried it on more than one guitar because each guitar can have very different overtones which could throw it off. It's very cool that Jim D'Addario is left a comment on the clip trying to get in touch with the developer. Jim's on the ball. I would love a pedal that did this.

Oh, and is it just me, or are you waiting for the guy to scream at the end "and then I vill rulez da vorld!!!!" maniacally? Maybe that's just my reaction to the accent.

I don't know where this guy gets all the gear from, or how he finds the time, but The Tone Kings does the most thorough gear reviews / comparisons I have ever seen. This new one is just another example.

Most people don't realise how much difference a good mic makes to the record sound of a guitar rig. It's a shoot out between an SM57 and an e609, it goes for 10 minutes and is exactly the sort of stuff you wish you could do when shopping.

For the record, I like Channel 2. What about you guys?

Sounds like pretty simple fair, but this has easily adjustable arms so you can either hang your gear in the most efficient way, or do what I would do and arrange them so they look their best. It's a shame I rent.
