HBE Frost Bite Flanger
I love a good flanger. And this has to be one of the best I have heard in a long time. it has that right amount of bite to it, that right amount of metallic sheen. I love it.
The Homebrew Electronics Frost Bite Flanger is a double sized flange pedal that is loosely based on a vintage ADA model. With 6 knobs and a mini toggle, there aren't many flange tones this analog Homebrew Electronics Frost Bite Flanger can't get.
And in a nod to MXR, I love the giant knob used for the enhance mode control. Fantastic!
HipKitty Chameleon Boost / Distortion
The new HipKitty Chameleon Boost / Distortion is more than a common boost. This is one vary versatile pedal. Not only does it run with three stages of boost (clean boost, overdrive and distortion), it features a harmonics control that lets you dial in the blend of 2nd and 3rd order harmonics. That sounds impressive, and whitout going into the science is kinda hard to explain - do you really want me to explain wave theory? - but what it does mean to you is a tonal variation not normally seen in overdrives.
With true bypass, it's not going to interfere with your natural tone. And it cleans up nicely when you roll back the volume. All in all, yet another pedal I would love to own from HipKitty.
Electro Harmonix Voice Box

I want this pedal. Granted it is similar to the vocal processor that Digitech released a little while ago, but this just seems so much simpler and more fun. I can't exactly quantify "fun" but the fact there are no preset menus or fancy footswitches, just two buttons and six dials, makes this much more accessible.
I'd love to do a few gigs with both to compare how they are for usability in a live setting.
Electro Harmonix 2880 Looper

I've been looking at some looping and harmony effects for a possible solo gig I may be coming into, and I came across the 2880 Stereo Multi-Track Looper (among other things) that just totally blew me away. This unit allows you to loop and mix down tracks on the fly via a foot switch to creat an almost unlimited number of layers when performing live. It features:
- Non-compressed, 44.1 kHz / 16-bit CD quality audio
- Now includes a 1 GB card providing up to 31 minutes per track
- Loop speed change over a 2 octave range
- Reverse playback and over-dub mode
- MIDI Clock Sync as master or slave
- USB port enables backup/restore to/from PC or MAC
- Overdub or punch in/out recording
- Stereo or mono recording
- Familiar transport controls
- Selectable quantize or non-quantize (free running) modes
- Built-in metronome
- Separate stereo mixdown track frees tracks for re-use
- Individual panning per track
- 9LDC-500 power supply included
I don't think you could use half the features in a true live setting, but as an improvisational tool in the studio it would be priceless. The video below explains how it works better than I ever could.
