Jackson Mark Morton Dominion

I've never been a huge fan of Jackson. Most of their guitars are pointy and loud and really not my thing these days (I say these days as i did own a BC Rich Ironbird at one stage). Sure, not all their guitars are like that, but the typical image that pops into your head when you think of Jackson is Randy Rhoads and his flying V.
So when I saw the Mark Morton Dominion reviewed at i heart guitar I was intrigued. Even though Mark Morton is the guitarist from lamb Of God, this guitar didn't look particularly metal to me. But trust me when I say it is a sheep in wolf's clothing, mostly thanks to a pair of Seymour Duncan '59s.
However, I do like the fact it is set up more like a Les Paul than your typical shred guitar. A lot of the metal guitars are set up for fluid fast playing, which to me makes them not to good at what metal is all about - getting thick and heavy tones. The Dominion goes against that grain, and it is a welcome change.
What I found particularly striking was the finish you see in the image above. They call it "Riverbed". Ok. Lets just pretend we didn't hear that pretentious name and say that it looks bloody awesome.
The other killer feature is that they have gutted thins thing and given it a chambered body. As Peter say, it provides the guitar with a massively huge tone.
You know Peter, I'm jealous. You get to play with all the cool toys. Hopefully, with some luck, that will be changing soon.
