Tech21 SansAmp Character Series

sansamp-character-series.jpg

Tech21 never fail to make a great pedal. I still have an original XXL in my pedal rack that I use for subtle warmth through to supreme fuzz noise. These pedals are more refined in that that focus on one particular of amp each. The 5 pedals are the Blonde, the British, the California, the Liverpool, and the VT Bass, each emulating the similarly monikered amps of the era.

RRP is US$200 and you could definitely do worse for the money.

I don’t doubt their quality, but I’d rather hear them first to see if I really have a need for them.

For those of us that already have sansamp products, I wonder if these new pedals improve on the tone quality. I find the emulations on the psa-1 and classic pedals sound metalic (not heavy metal style but machanical sounding). I have noticed on the web the word squelch being used to describe sansamp products?
