Rock Guitar. Is this all we have to offer?

Surely 2006 has got more to offer guitarists (well rock guitarists anyway) than this. Alfred have just released the best of 2006 so far rock song book.. Surely there have been more than three good rock bands this year? "You and Me" a guitar hit. Don't get me wrong, I am possiblythe biggest Lifehouse fan you can find, but no way would I include a three chord wonder song on a best "rock" guitar book for 2006 (didn't that come out last year anyway?).
And lets be honest, Disturbed and Staind haven't really impacted on the Aussie charts down here (until recently anyway. Staind just got a big hit in the last few weeks down here with "The Ballad"). Look at the track listing below
Animals (Nickleback) * Falling (Staind) * Good Is Good (Sheryl Crow) * Guarded (Disturbed) * Holiday (Green Day) * I'm Feeling You (Santana featuring Michelle Branch) * Jesus of Suburbia (Green Day) * Photograph (Nickelback) * Remedy (Seether) * Right Here (Staind) * Savin' Me (Nickelback) * Stand Up (Trapt) * Stricken (Disturbed) * Wake Me Up When September Ends (Green Day) * You and Me (Lifehouse).
You know, I still haven't listened to that Seether album yet either. Maybe I should. But regardless, that is a very narrow selection. Are these artists that desperate for money that they have no choice but to licence out the publishing for their "hits". Surely Green Day and Nickelback have a squillion dollars in the bank so they must be doing this for the greater good of all pimpley faced punks that were too young to be there first time, or to help people who haven't gotton over their teen angst still feel accepted in general culture.
NOTE: I am actually a fan of both Green Day and Nickelback. I'm just honest about the demographic they are both hitting at the moment.
You want a rock album. Seriously. This thing is not getting off my stereo lately :

Now THAT is a rock album fuckers!!!
