Rocktron Release Prophesy II

Rocktron Prophecy

Rocktron has just enhanced its new Prophesy II digital guitar preamp with presets delivered by Dave Mustaine, Gary Hoey, Rusty Cooley, Jimi Bell and other world renowned artists.

I don't get the whole "sound exactly like your favourite guitarist" mentality. Sure, I may like the raw type of tone used by someone like Joe Perry, but I don't want to sound like Joe Perry, and there is no way i could. You get two guitarists and play them through the same guitar rig, and they will still sound like two completely different guitarists. So many young players get very disenchanted when they finally get "that" pedal "that" guitarist uses and still sound like crap when they play through it.

One of the major break throughs in being a guitarist is finding your own "sound", or at least being comfortable with the sounds you can produce. I say that because it is a circular effect. Your playing influences your tone, and the tone will influence your playing.
